Massachusetts Ave.
The project at Mass. Ave. was a unique project that demonstrated the power of shotblasting and surface preparation to restore badly stained concrete. The project was on the bottom level of a new garage which sustained heavy water intrusion due to a city water main that burst and flooded the garage shortly after construction. The result was concrete that was badly stained and required a heavy shotblast and application of a penetrating sealer to restore to a “like new” condition. The project entailed shotblasting the floor at a slow pace to remove the stained concrete followed by an application of a penetrating sealer to prevent any future water intrusion.
